EdgeDB, a fast-growing graph-relational database developer, recently closed a $15 million early-stage round of funding, led by Nava Ventures and Accel. Other investors included well-known tech companies, such as Google LLC’s Firebase, Microsoft Corp and Github.
EdgeDB launched its graph-relational database in 2019 to vastly improve developer experience using an open source offering to address some of the key limitations of Structured Query Language and relational schema modeling while also vastly boosting performance. This funding will be used to expand EdgeDB’s development team and build out the company’s commercial offering, EdgeDB Cloud, ahead of the official launch in early 2023.
LaBarge Weinstein acted as Canadian counsel to EdgeDB with a team that included Michael Sami and Nick Robelek.
