John Rick Joins LaBarge Weinstein
Ottawa, ON, November 1, 2012 – LaBarge Weinstein LLP, a business law firm, is pleased to announce that John Rick has joined the firm to lead the Real Estate and Debt Financing group.
LaBarge Weinstein provides legal services to high tech and knowledge-based companies and their investors. Headquartered in Ottawa, LaBarge Weinstein has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, and Waterloo, and clients from St. John’s to Victoria and around the world.
At the start of his career, John worked at a nationally-recognized Ottawa firm before opening his own practice in 1993. John successfully operated Rick and Associates for 19 years before selling the practice to Langevin Morris Smith to join LaBarge Weinstein.
In addition to his work as a lawyer, John has taught at Algonquin College and Carleton University. He is also an active member of the community, having held positions including President and Director of the Kanata Chamber of Commerce, founding Director of the World Trade Centre (Ottawa), and the Secretary of Operation Go-Home.

LaBarge Weinstein has added four new lawyers and promoted two associates over the past few months. Former articling students Joelle Gogo and Michael Grantmyre were hired as associates at the beginning of July. Then in August, Brigitte LeBlanc-Lapointe – formerly of Sullivan & Cromwell in New York City – joined the team and Estelle Duez and Michael Morgan became partners of the firm.
