Accedo and Digiflare announce merger
Two video experience companies have merged, creating a “transformational video experience powerhouse.”
Today, Accedo announced that it is merging with Digiflare. The newly-formed company will remain under the Accedo brand.
“We are excited to join the Accedo team and merge our products, services and expertise,” said a statement from Mano Kulasingam, co-CEO of Toronto-based Digiflare. “As video trends continue to evolve, our combined capabilities will create greater value for our customers, delivering dynamic, true-native video apps at the forefront of the TV viewing experience on a global, unprecedented scale.”
Kulasingam and co-CEO David George founded Digiflare in 2008. Accedo was founded in Sweden in 2004 by Michael Lantz and Fredrick Anderson. Lantz will become CEO of the merged company.
Today, Accedo’s customers include global video service leaders like Netflix, NBC Universal, Spotify, Fox, Disney, Telefonica and HBO, among many others. Digiflare creates video app experiences for the multi-screen environments.
LaBarge Weinstein acted as counsel to Digiflare with a team that included James Smith, Kyle Lavender and Jordan Potechin.
